RIPE Database

Introduction

The RIPE Database contains registration information for networks in the the RIPE NCC service region and related contact details. Registration information includes IP addresses and Autonomous System (AS) Numbers. Related contact details include organisations or users that are associated with these Internet number resources and their relevant Points of Contact (POC). The RIPE Database is also an Internet Routing Registry (IRR) and contains information about routing policy. [ more ]

The RIPE Database and the data it contains is available to the public according to the RIPE Database Terms and Conditions.

The RIPE Database Document Library contains documentation on many RIPE Database features and how to use them.

Searching the RIPE Database

There are three ways of searching the RIPE Database:

• Use the online search facility.
• Query whois.ripe.net directly from the command line using a whois client.
• Use the free text search

Updating the RIPE Database

• Use the online update facility (webupdates)
• Send an update by e-mail
• Synchronous Updates

We do not currently support X.509 authentication with webupdates
